An unusual pair of large antique Chinese Immortal root wood carvings. The heads, legs & arms are detachable. Both Immortals are standing on 1 leg, these also detach from the base. There is a carved mark on the figure & base of one carving, please see pictures. I believe both these carvings are of Li Tieguai, one of the Eight Immortals in the Taoist pantheon. The suffering of the sick, needy & poor. It is very rare to find a true pair of these wonderful Chinese sculptured root wood carvings. G for both root carvings. The size varies slightly between the pair & these are the dimensions of one carving. These root wood carvings are in good antique condition. There are wood shrinkage splits to both root carvings but all is stable. There are also some old woodworm holes, mainly in the bases. All is listed for full accuracy, these antique carvings display beautifully. Please note that goods cannot be sent until cheques have cleared.
