Wood carving tools mixed set.. Set of 12 mixed carving tools. Made by Mathieson of Glasgow who are best known for their wood infill planes. I bought this set at the old Brick Lane market, London, in 1981 and used them in my job as a furniture restorer. They’ve been sitting in the toolbox unused for 35 years now. Hand- turned boxwood handles, brass ferrules. Three tools are missing these ferrules. A mix of flat and bent gouges, flat and bent parting tools… Blade length about 3 3/4. Some surface rust which has caused some variable pitting on some of the blades. These are quality tools for fine work. The steel takes a very fine edge.
