Palau Handmade, Hand Carved Wooden Sculpture. Storyboard Circular Post or Stump, tree trunk section, made to look like a small island in the Palau group. Elements include native people, a turtle, the moon and sun above, flying birds in the sky, beach sand, palm trees, foliage, etc. This storyboard depicts the legend of the turtle laying cycle on Ngemelis Island (see image provided). Signed by the local Palauan artist: Pete Rose, Koror, Palau’96 engraved on bottom. No major damage, except for minor stress fractures in the wood from drying effects over time. The base of the piece is slightly uneven while resting on the display stand. A round piece of black cloth is included to help even out the base while resting on the display platform. Measures about 9 inches tall by about 4 inches in diameter. Weighs about 2.2 pounds. Carved from solid local tropical wood. Included is the display platform stand as shown in the images.
